Gathering for Slovenians living abroad under the name of Srečanje v moji deželi 2008 /Gathering in my country 2008/ was organised by the Slovenian Emigrants’ Society /Slovenska izseljenska matica/ this year as well. Gathering was attended by active members of our Association and members of the choir Davorin Jenko.

On Saturday, 5 June, in a beautiful setting in the amphitheatre in Kromberk, there was a joint concert of choirs dedicated to most prominent culture creators: Primož Trubar, Vinko Vodopivec and Matej Bor. The choir from our Association Davorin Jenko presented themselves on that occasion.
On Sunday, 6 June, our time was dedicated to the town sightseeing, attending the mass in the cathedral in Nova Gorica, presentation of Janez Rožman’s publications and studio recording of radio show Concert from our areas /Koncert iz naših krajev/. Radio recording was hosted by Mr. Janez Dolinar, and choirs from Italy, France, Serbia (Novi Sad and Niš), Slovenia and our choir Davorin Jenko delivered their performances. Each choir performed two songs. It was followed by short discussion with representatives of the Associations and choir leaders. Representatives of our Association wanted to present to the public the city from which we come, as well as activities and goals of the Association of Slovenians Triglav. We approvingly spoke about the active work of our Association, choir and the school of the Slovenian language and culture.
Following the mandatory part, the gathering continued with pleasant discussions of representatives of all Associations.
Two-day gathering was very successful and cheerful. Sponsors once again proved that in this way they want to maintain relationships among Slovenians who do not live in their mother country.
