This year, our choir performed for the first time at the "Primorska poje 2026" event, which is held under the motto of Srečko Kosovel's lyrics "Our singing is passionate, our strength is alive!"

The choral song event has been held for 57 years in the area of the coastal part of Slovenia and this year is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the death of Srečko Kosovel and the 150th anniversary of the birth of Dragotin Kettej.

Master Mojca Jan Zoran, Director of the RS Public Institute for Cultural Activities, in her greeting to the 57th "Primorska Poje" event emphasizes: "The Primorska Poje event is an expression of choral creativity, which creates a harmony of art, cooperation and connection, tradition and awareness of self and community. Choral singing is not just the performance of music. It is a space for growth, learning, mutual respect, dedication to a common goal, teamwork, and at the same time intergenerational cooperation. Choirs were, are and will be creative, the vital, connective tissue of the community.

Singing in a choir and choral creativity are deeply rooted in the identity of Primorska - creative choral energy expresses beauty, memories, traditions, values...

When choirs from different places come together on concert stages, their performance is not just a singing presentation of their work. It is a meeting of people who recognize in singing a space of belonging, acceptance, connection, mutual support and collective inspiration. Every choir, every voice and every performance is simultaneously the voice and story of its community".

The people of Primorska welcomed us warmly and cordially. The organization was impeccable. At the concert, which was organized on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Negovan Nemec Home, 6 choirs performed. Before the performance, the choir leaders from the Lek Ljubljana Chamber Male Choir, the Pivka Pivka Chamber Choir, the Zimzelen Chamber Choir from Nova Gorica, and the Cerkno Pensioners' Association expressed their desire to cooperate and come to Banja Luka to organize a joint concert. The concert took place in a very pleasant atmosphere. As the only choir coming from outside Slovenia, our choir "Davorin Jenko" had a successful performance with three songs, and we received the most applause for the performance of the song "Ne luduj Lelo" which was accompanied by a stage performance.

After the concert, we socialized with all the performers over a very delicious dinner prepared by our good hosts. We used Sunday to visit the Digital Museum in Gorica, and then we visited the Cerkniško Jezero Museum. It was extremely interesting and then we went to the scheduled lunch at the Pri Stani restaurant. The organization of the trip was excellent, and the visit to the museums was especially interesting. Even the weather was kind to us and we didn't have to wait long at the border crossings. Congratulations to the organizers, singers and driver who made this an extremely nice and eventful visit. We look forward to future trips.
