On 20 February 2026, a delegation of the newly elected leadership of the Association of Slovenians "Triglav" Banja Luka, president of the Association Ivan Memon, vice president Olga Suvajac and member of the Executive Board of the Association Marija Petković, paid a protocol visit to the Consul of the Consular Office of the Republic of Slovenia in Banja Luka, Zvone Žigon, PhD.

The warm reception of the Consul encouraged a lively, constructive conversation. First, Marija Petković introduced the Consul to the method of work in the past period, problems and results of work, and the new president of the Association Ivan Memon briefly presented the guidelines for the work of the Association for the period 2026-2029. The main goal of the Association of Slovenians "Triglav" Banja Luka is to preserve Slovenian culture, language, customs, national identity, and connect with the motherland, the Republic of Slovenia. In the next period, the emphasis will be on involving young people in the activities of the Association as a whole and individual sections within it, as well as animating members who have stopped visiting "Triglav" for various reasons. With the help of the teacher, knowledge of the Slovenian language should be learned or renewed.

After discussing the projects planned for 2026, Consul Zvone Žigon gave advice and suggestions for further work and promised selfless support in the work of the new leadership of the Association of Slovenians "Triglav" Banja Luka.
