On Thursday, 2 July 2009, the Ninth Gathering of Slovenians from Abroad entitled “Live (through) Integration or Assimilation” was held at the Slovenian Parliament.
At this year’s gathering participants presented their experience and exchanged opinions on integration and process of assimilation.
Introductory speeches welcoming the participants were given by Speaker of the Parliament Pavel Gantar, PhD, Minister for Slovenians from Abroad Boštjan Žekš, PhD, and President of the Parliament’s Commission for Relations with Slovenians Abroad Miro Petek.
The Ninth Gathering was yet another opportunity for Slovenians from various parts of the world to gather and cooperate, and they represent an opportunity to exchange interesting experience.
