19-21 June 2015

International exchange of authors of Banja Luka and of Nova Gorica in Slovenia continued after the visit to Banja Luka. Zdravko Kecman, author and translator took part at the Literary encounter, honouring one of the most significant Slovenian poets Simon Gregorčič, which took place in Nova Gorica and Kobarid.

Authors laid flowers to the grave of Simon Gregorčič, in the village of Vrsno near Kobarid, which was then followed by a programme in his house protected as a monument and under the care of Museum in Tolmin.
Verses were read by: Darinka Kozinc, Rajko Slokar, Boris Jukić, Olga Kolenc, Olga Marija Mercina, Zdravko Kecman and others. Pupils of Elementary School “Simon Gregorčič” from Kobarid also took part in the programme. The programme was accompanied by sounds of zither played by Janka Prohska. Participants were greeted by mayor of municipality of Kobarid.

It was agreed to continue cooperation of authors of Banja Luka and Literary Association “Govorica” of Nova Gorica within the Association of the Slovenians of the Republic of Srpska “Triglav”. For a start, next year it is planned to publish a bilingual book of stories including ten Serbian and ten Slovenian authors. It would be followed by promotion of the book in Banja Luka and Nova Gorica, and as part of that promotion there would be organised several literary evenings and discussions about books.

During the encounter there were organised small exhibitions of books which were thereafter presented to libraries. A special present arrived in the library of the Association “Triglav”. Those are the books by authors who were guests at the encounter but also monographs and compendiums and other professional literature.

This is a start of a very fruitful cooperation with all the conditions to grow.
