The meeting of the members of the Executive Board of the Association with the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in BiH, Mrs. Zorica Bukinac, was held at the premises of the Association of Slovenians of RS "Triglav" Banja Luka on 18 December 2019.

President of the Association Mrs. Marija Grbić thanked for selfless support of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in BiH to the Association of Slovenians Triglav and informed Ambassador Bukinac about current events, successfully implemented projects of the Association during 2019 and planned activities and projects in the next year.
Discussion was also held about the recently held 21st celebration of St. Martin, a traditional event organized by the Slovenians from Banja Luka every year on the occasion of St. Martin's Day, nurturing the old folk custom of symbolically baptising must into young wine, also known as "wine baptism".
Ambassador Bukinac expressed her satisfaction with the work of the Association of Slovenians Triglav on the promotion and preservation of Slovenian cultural identity in these areas and emphasized that the support of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and the Embassy in BiH would continue in the future.
At the proposal of the Ambassador, activities were agreed on the implementation of new projects in 2020 relating to the celebration of World Bee Day on 20 May and the organization of the Traditional Slovenian Breakfast consisting of milk, butter, bread, honey and apples.
In order to warn of the decline of bees in the world and to draw attention to their role in human and planet health, the UN has declared 20 May as World Bee Day by a resolution proposed by Slovenia and it was supported by all EU countries and many other countries in the world.
This date was chosen as the birthday of Slovenian Anton Janša, the pioneer of modern beekeeping, which is an important agricultural activity in Slovenia with a long tradition.
The proposals were welcomed and joint activities were agreed on the implementation of the said projects.
