Association of citizens of Slovenian origin from Tuzla organised Gathering of Slovenian choirs active in Bosnia and Herzegovina under the auspices of the Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Slovenians Abroad and Union of Slovenian Associations in BiH «Europe Now».

The gathering took place on 6 October 2012 in Tuzla in the Cristal Hall of the Tuzla Hotel. The atmosphere was extremely pleasant and fans of Slovenian songs could hear the following choirs: choir of the Slovenian Cultural Association «Cankar» from Sarajevo «Camerata Slovenica», mixed choir «Davorin Jenko» from Banja Luka and hosts, female choir «Slovenčice».

The participants were welcomed by the president of the Association Alenka Savić, who thanked them for the participation to the event and wished them a pleasant stay in Tuzla. The gathering was officially opened by the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in BiH H.E. Andrej Grasselli. The audience enjoyed the music programme performed by the choirs, while the event ended by a „Venček ljudskih“ which was performed by all participants. The hosts prepared gifts and presented them to representatives of associations from Banja Luka, Sarajevo and conductor of female choir «Slovenčice». Representative of the Association of Slovenians «Triglav» from Banja Luka thanked the hosts for the invitation and excellent organisation and presented them with the monograph «Slovenians in Slatina 1923-2008» published by the Association of Slovenians „Triglav“ Banja Luka. Socialising of participants continued along a dinner and singing late into the night.

As part of the event, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in BiH H.E. Andrej Grasselli opened the exhibition of art section of the Association of citizens of Slovenian origin where four authors presented their works. Pleasant atmosphere of the opening of the exhibition was accompanied by sounds of the song „V dolini tihi“ performed by choir «Davorin Jenko» from Banja Luka.

Members of the choir from Banja Luka visited the premises the Association of citizens of Slovenian origin where works by their members artists are exhibited and where supply teaching lessons of Slovenian take place. Weather was nice and sunny so that hosts and guests enjoyed sightseeing, walking in parks and by the salty lake, near which lunch was organised.
